Your family has an emergency plan in place?

Since the nature of emergencies are that they happen when it happens a good Doomsday Prepper must be prepared for many different contingencies.

Obviously most preppers survival think of the obvious such as food, shelter and safety, but what about actually planning for the emergency itself? What happens if a car train derailed and was loaded with chemicals potentially letal and were plume blowing your way? The spouse is working, the kids are in school and all hell breaks loose, or as we like to call him, when the shit hits the fan.

In a few minutes the announcement of disaster streets are filling with cars, people are ignoring the rules of the road for example lane drive in 4 ways and stops. This leads to further snarling traffic problems and accidents. To make things worse they try and contact your family on the phone, but you can get all circuits are busy message.

Fortunately you're at home and have access to gas masks, plenty of food and all, but the spouse and children are not close to where. You have to leave your home because of security concerns but what about the rest of your family, what they're thinking? Where are they going to try to go?

Most likely they are trying to get to you and the gear that you are looking to pick up and leave with.

This is a common scenario that happens and will happen again. Have a plan in place for these types of emergency situations can be the difference between life and death. Every family should have plans in place on what to do in such a scenario.

Maybe they have a family member that is outside the city as your meeting place. Maybe it's just an address in town for reach and leave a message for a final destination.

The point is that everyone in the family needs to know where to meet if they are separated and need to go with the story. This plan should be discussed regularly, so when the emergency situation comes up everyone knows where to go and what to do at least.

Creating a survival plan is as simple as having a discussion and come up with some positions. Should also plan on who should grab what when the time comes. Plan for different scenarios. A derailment of the train would be very different from that of a terrorist attack or an earthquake.

Take a few minutes to get this done. You just might save your life and the lives of your loved ones.
