You need a gas mask in your emergency Kit?

If you're like me you have probably seen many shows of preparation of doomsday on TV and I saw many people with gas and biological filtration. Was asked by visitors a couple if it is something that is really necessary in your survival kit.

Answer that question really depends on what is used for the mask. If you were in an emergency where chemical or biological weapons are used then having a gas mask would be the difference between life and death. If on the other hand there were a swine flu, avian flu pandemic or other that is airborne and nose mouth filters would probably work better.

The gas mask is not actually an item you would be able to wear all the time. Is for short-term use in an emergency situation. Many have no way to drink in them and are not exactly the most comfortable survival items that you will wear. Filter paper masks can be worn regularly and won't be nearly as cumbersome as a gas mask.

So with that said if you have a gas mask in your survival tool kit? I like to think of as a prepper I try to be prepared for a variety of emergency situations. If you prepare for the only super volcano eruption in Wyoming, or a chemical attack I'm limiting my quickness.

For about 20-40 bucks you can get a gas mask and be prepared for any emergency situation survival nears. I also want to make sure you have a supply of paper masks for airborne pathogens in case of spread of infectious diseases. Now some of the most popular Gas masks are those who come from Israel as they are constantly updated with new innovations. For most survival situations having a filtration masks of any brand is likely to provide protection of survival for both you and your family.

Remember how a prepper that you need to think about being prepared for many different situations. Most likely you will never be able to have all your bases covered but more have covered more will be prepared. Know the emergency survival is the best way to start. You are more educated about what would it take to survive in any emergency it'sa hurricane, nuclear disaster, widespread electrical interruptions or will be only a local emergency, the better off you and your family.
