Why need a survival seed bank? survival techniques for 2012

A survival seed bank is just what it sounds like: a Bank, or seeds stored away for when survival tactics are necessary savings account. The seeds in a survival seed bank are there for a rainy day (or worse!) Typically, a sperm bank personnel will consist of a few dozen different types of heirloom seeds that a person knows that will grow well in their environment. There is a point in having melon seeds, if you live in, say, Greenland!

These seeds are stored in such a way (usually in dry conditions and vacuum sealed) so that their life expectancy is longer possible and their profitability is protected. If something were to happen, whether it be a man-made disaster (nuclear war) or a natural disaster (earthquake, meteor, etc), the seeds that have been saved in a secure way (hopefully) can be planted after disaster and provide us and our pets with a supply of food.

You can imagine the State that we would be in if, all of a sudden, all the crops that we have growing in America have been destroyed? Or what happens if earthquakes took our delivery trucks and roads had no way to bring food to us? What happens if our satellite and radio communications were disrupted-as someone who would say we need help, food, water, medical care?

Now, I realize that I am a bit extreme here, but I'm just trying to get the point across. And the truth is, apparently me and my other "preppers" aren't the only ones who think they have a survival seed bank is a good idea. To date, there are nearly 1,500 seed banks owned and managed by organizations and Governments around the world-these are not personal private seed banks! Numbers of seed banks are probably millions.

Svalbard Seed Vault, also known as the doomsday Seed Vault, is definitely the biggest and most well known seed bank. Located in Norway, holds over 500,000 different types of seeds and is executed by the Norwegian Government with support from the Bill Gates Foundation and the Rockefeller family. For more information, click here.

The bottom line is this, if you just want to be a little cautious, or you're convinced that soon the end of the world, it doesn't hurt to have a backup plan. If you save your own seeds or buying a certain type of kit Survival Seed Bank , may want to take some kind of action-just to be safe!

My number one goal is growing my food. I don't think that really counts as a hobby. For some people, but for me, my own fruit and vegetable growing and saving my seed is the key to survival. The only person you can rely on yourself, if you ask me. The Government is trying to "help" us all with GMOS and well-being, but it's all a crock. We need to know how to survive alone.

2012-just another Y2K or prepping for something more?

So now everyone knows that this is the 2012, but unlike Y2K does not feel anything about it on the evening news every night. Why is it that you suppose? It's just not that big of a deal, I should say only to be the end of the world right? It is because there are too many other great events going on in the world that are more worthy of news? Syria, Iran and Israel are on every night, scary stuff there and let's not forget the evening dose of politics. I mean come on it was the talk of civilization for years, let's take a look at those who spoke for a moment here. You have the Mayans, Hopi prophecies, Norwegian Vikings and the new world order, oh let's not forget Nostradamus. Is the whole cable television in one form or another; You can't go a week without any new Show ' or ' Doomsday ' Survival Show ' have been confronted. So you have to stop and think there is something really going on here or am I just crazy paranoid or both?

Let's look back for a few years and see what we have found, there is a model of what is leading to the Grand Finale of 2012? Here is what brought us all feeling a little uncomfortable and maybe that is why we do not like to talk about it.

Indian Ocean Tsunami 2004 229,866 people died.
2005-Hurricane Katrina 1836 people dead and thousands displaced.
2008-cyclone Nargis in Myanmar 146,000 deaths.
2010-The Haitian and Chilean earthquakes over 230,000 died and villages reduced to rubble.
2011-Japan earthquake and Tsunami as of September 11, 2011 a total of 15,850 deaths and injuries are 6011 3287 still missing.
2011-Tornado in United States for the year 1894 total (NOAA) causing death and destruction.
Irene 2011-Hurricane causes large floods and power outages for weeks in the Northeast.

We can look back on for 2011 be one of the most dysfunctional filled years on record, and that makes it even more likely that something else could be just around the corner. I remember when I was a kid back in the years 70 natural disasters seemed to be much less and less often. Now you can't turn on the TV and not feel something burst or earth shock or flooded. These are not meant to scare you but natural disasters such as flood, fire, earthquake, tornado and day on thousands of people every year. You should know what the risks are and prepare to protect yourself, your family and community.

Now we have NASA talking about solar solar maximum or Max which is the period of maximum solar activity solar cycle of the Sun that could convey the massive solar storms our way this year and next. Because this is a big problem? Solar storms of this size can reduce our electricity network and send us back to a time before we had electricity. Great, like it can't get any worse, but I think they do not have the power to say probably tell how a year or maybe more, some experts say the longer 2-5 years, the time it takes to repair a partial state of operation depending on how severe the damage to the electricity grid is everything we use or somehow revolves around having power. How to communicate without my cell phone or a computer? As you eat if that supply the trucks should not store fuel? How to cook or refrigerate my food, if I can find any food? Where will have water to drink if all water stations are down? If you cannot go to work because of an emergency think government workers will be able to? Who will solve everything? If you think the Government is going to save just look what happened after Hurricane Katrina and I think you'll find your answer. Governments around the world are stockpiling supplies. So why no 2012 advertising campaign, there's something they don't want to know what would cause widespread civil unrest and panic?

Nobody knows with certainty what's going to happen on December 21, 2012, but might not be a bad idea just to be prepared for whatever we could meet in the other 364 days. Recognizing the imminent dangers and knowing what to do to protect yourself and your family will help you to take effective measures to prepare in advance and recovery aid after the event. A good boy scout is always prepared and ready.

Prepping is nothing new; the families have done for years in one form or another. If being increasingly their own food in the garden and canning of crop or livestock for food, or just keep the pantry full of canned goods. It is only in the last 100 years that people were more reliant on technology and Government for their daily needs. Since the beginning of the recession, families began to understand they need to have additional plans and resources to get through these tough times, so we ' Preppers ' in the main stream. Some of the things you can do to prepare for the unexpected, such as assembling a supply kit that includes food, water, and developing a family emergency plan, are the same for all types of hazards. However each emergency is unique and knowing the actions to take for each threat will impact specific decisions and preparations which do. Learning about these specific threats, you are preparing yourself to react in an emergency. Prepping for anything that may or may not happen today, tomorrow or December 21, 2012 is going to be essential for the survival of your family. Even if nothing happens you can always feel confident and secure in any situation, knowing that they are prepared for what life throws at you.
